Love Your Hair!

Hey there!

This post is just a reaffirming that it is important for you to love your hair, no matter what state it is, whether it behaves the way you want it to, or whether people try to  nit-pick all you do to it. As a black woman, I am bombarded with questions about my natural hair by people of other races (as well as my relaxed girlfriends as well), but the important thing is not to be discouraged, but enjoy that this is what makes you unique.

Here's a vid I made of an art journal page expressing these sentiments.

Here is the finished page:

Okay.

Take care, dears.

DIY - Avocado and Egg Yolk Mask

Hey there!

I must begin by saying I am LOVING how the avocado mask made my hair feel. SOFT! Even after just one try. I used it as a pree-poo moisturizer and it was the simplest DIY yet - just two ingredients - 1 ripe avocado and 2 egg yolks.

You can go to THIS LINK to find out about all the scientific goodness in the properties of both Avocado and Egg Yolk that make them excellent for growth, shine, volume and conditioning.

Here's how I did it:

First, I crushed the avocado into mush and then in a separate container beat the eggs, then pouring both mixtures into my blender, added about 1/3 cup water and whipped it all into a smooth creamy texture.

Then, I strained it to remove any tiny avocado bits so they wouldn't become stuck in my hair, partitioned my hair and slathered it on thick, then popped my trusty cap on and gave it 30 minutes. Then I was ready to shampoo, condition and style using my usual LCO method. :) Easy as pie.
